Question
I love photography and I want to get started but...?
I need a good camera!
Answer
To get started in Photography you do not need the best camera around. First of all, until you know what area of photography interest you the most you cant make a decision on the best camera as the needs change based on the type of photography you will be doing.brbrPortrait photography, still life, and scenic work for example are best accomplished with a larger format camera then you would use for action, sports, or editorial photography.brbrMy suggestion for you would be to start with a medium priced MM single lens reflex camera, either digital or film but digital does have the advantage of letting you take a lode of pictures without the cost of processing. Get a wide angle lens mm, a medium telephoto lensmm and a long telephoto lensmm and practice and learn. Read everything you can find on photography, take a couple classes at school or your community college. Photograph everything and everyone you can and experiment with angles, lighting, shadows and composition.brbrSomewhere down the road a year or two you will have a real passion for a specific type of photography. At that point, if you have been reading and studying you will know what camera is best for you.brbrGood lock and happy shooting!
